I have very little sympathy for AccuWeather on this. They profit off of APIs and data that is freely provided by NOAA. Apple is exposing that data developers conveniently.

As for some of the planned obsolescence, I can understand frustration. However, overall, I think Apple has done a pretty good job on its backwards compatibility with iOS and macOS. Same cannot be said for Android. Over-backwards compatibility in Windows stifled some aspects of innovations for Microsoft for years.
